All About The Work, Pt. 2

I'm very excited about what the next few months bring! Los Angeles is in the midst of a rainstorm and I think it's a perfect metaphor for the musical events coming down that will undoubtedly quench my thirst for playing, writing, composing, recording, and performing.

Most immediately, is the first extended run of 2017 with legendary performer Engelbert Humperdinck. The band has some new members who are injecting their musicality (and personality) into the proceedings in a fresh and inspiring way. I welcome the challenge of helping to make this year's EH Tour - his 50th Anniversary! - one of the best ever.

I'm happy to announce the launch of a new band & musical endeavor called Groove Lexicon! In addition to my bass playing duties, I will be making a large contribution as a composer to the group's repertoire. This is very exciting for me, as the instrumentation - 4 horns & rhythm section - opens up some interesting and challenging opportunities for a composer. Adding to the excitement of this new project is the anticipation of recording an album with the band and the accompanying performances which are sure to follow. Among the tunes I've written which are to be included are The Road Home, Meteors, and two new compositions: Stern Warning and Living Proof.

Which takes me to the last item of note…The Return of The Adam Cohen Band! I'm happy to report that I will be doing a show - March 19th, 8PM - with my group at a new venue called The Trip. I hope to see you there. I will have CDs for sale and some special guests joining me.

So, with both feet now firmly planted in 2017, I look ahead with anticipation to a creatively fertile few weeks.

Thanks for listening,
Adam
